Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the pan and sauté until the garlic is golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Reserve 1 cup of the pasta cooking water and then drain the spaghetti.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the pan with the garlic and oil, tossing to coat the pasta.
- If the pasta seems dry, add some of the reserved pasta cooking water, a little at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved.
- Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt to taste.
- Serve hot, with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
